William Mackey Memorial Scholarship

Education helped shape Bill Mackey's life from the very beginning. Raised by a mother who was a teacher and alongside siblings who shared this same calling, he grew up surrounded by the belief that teaching was a meaningful way to serve others. After graduating from Ashland College, he became a middle school math teacher and basketball/football coach while working summers as an account manager at Osborne Inc. After nearly ten years in education, he transitioned full-time to Osborne. Over the next 40 years, he worked his way up to president of Osborne Inc.

Despite his success in business, his passion for teaching never left him. He held deep respect for the Osborne family whose long-standing charitable work and commitment to the community reflected the same values he carried throughout his life.
