Inspiring Greatness Scholarship

The backpack and school supply distribution aspect of The Backpack Fund was inspired by Isaiah Thomas. He is an NBA star who succeeded despite only being 5 feet and 9 inches tall. In the city he plays in, he distributes school supplies to local students. One of his role models is known for the quote, “the highest human act is to inspire.” Isaiah inspired The Backpack Fund and The Backpack Fund hopes to inspire students in Lake County to pursue their biggest dreams. The Backpack Fund was founded by four friends at 20 years old. Since 2020, The Backpack Fund has tangibly supported thousands of people and inspired many more.

Scholarship Amount: $2,000

Eligibility requirements:

• 2026 graduate of a Lake County High School
• Attending college during the Autumn 2026 semester
• Provide proof of enrollment if chosen as the recipient of the scholarship
