2020 End of Year Fundraising!

Hello everyone,

The Backpack Fund is continuing its support of students in need in 2021! As you know, our 2020 campaign was a total success, and YOU donated 224 backpacks full of supplies directly to students. Over 300 more were donated to Riverside. All we did was the delivery. 

Here are some inspiring responses to a poll taken by students regarding The Backpack Fund: 

Q: What did receiving new backpacks and school supplies this summer mean to you?

A: “I felt like it was very helpful to me and my family.”

Q: What would it mean to you to continue to receive supplies like you did this summer?

A: “I would like that they keep it going. Some people really need it and they would love it.”

Q: What does it mean to you that former Riverside students helped you get school supplies this year?

A: “Receiving help from someone who was the part of your school is always great. It makes you want to help others too.”

As a community, we can continue to support our kids. In order to do that, The Backpack Fund is requesting your help once again. 

Most importantly, spread the word! The Backpack Fund can be as big as we make it, and that means helping more students just like the happy and grateful ones whose responses you just read. Share, share, and share!

Also, please consider donating once again. Our goal is to raise another $2,000 by the end of the calendar year. Sorting out what organizations you’ll be donating to on Giving Tuesday? Include The Backpack Fund in that list! 

All funds raised will go towards another round of school supply donations in the summer of 2021 and the Emily Ringler Memorial Scholarship, for which applications (open to the Riverside Class of 2021) will become available in January 2021.
